IPCC endorses car reduction measures as a means to cutting CO2 emissions

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has endorsed efforts to reduce car use as a way to cut carbon dioxide emissions.

"Transport demand management, which includes urban planning (that can reduce the demand for travel) and provision of information and educational; and techniques that can reduce car usage and lead to an efficient driving style and can support Greenhouse Gas mitigation," says the Summary for Policy-Makers of the IPCC's working group III on ways to mitigate...
