Sales of zero-emission bus volumes in the UK fell -20.4% to 588 units in the first quarter of 2026, but out-performed the overall market, according to data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Nearly two in five (37.3%) new buses registered were zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) – a record market share and clear evidence of the sector’s rapid transition to electric and hydrogen, said SMMT.
