Highways England boss to step down

Jim O’Sullivan is to step down as chief executive of Highways England early next year. He was appointed in 2015, and has led the government-owned company since shortly after its creation, overseeing delivery of the first Road Investment Strategy (RIS).  He was previously managing director of Heathrow’s airports division. O’Sullivan said: “Together with the DfT, our monitor ORR, Transport Focus and stakeholders across the sector we have done things that five years ago would not have been considered feasible. “I leave Highways England well placed to deliver the second roads period and to prepare for the third.”... continue
