In what is widely acknowledged to be a busy pre-election legislative programme, four transport Bills have been announced in the Queen's Speech.
Legislation to restructure railway responsibilities, improve road safety, construct Crossrail (see below), and give more transport powers to the Welsh Assembly Government were among the 26 Bills outlined by the Queen. In addition, the school transport Bill has been carried over from the previous parliamentary session.
