Stoke hopes to avoid need for air quality traffic restrictions

stoke-on-Trent City Council is in talks with ministers about whether a new plan can be devised to cut air pollution that removes the need for peak period traffic restrictions on two major roads. 

The clean air plan work by  Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme councils has pointed to the need for traffic restrictions to be introduced next year on two roads:

the A53 Etruria Road westbound (towards Newcastle-under-Lyme), west of the roundabout with the A500

the A50 Victoria Road,...
