Burnham stands firm in non-charging CAZ plan

Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham is pressing the Government to accept that the city region’s Clean Air Zone (CAZ) should be non-charging. This proposal was rejected by the Government in February although it did agree to delay the launch of the CAZ until early July and moved the deadline for the scheme to reach the compliant air quality level by two years to 2026 (LTT 8 Feb).
