Council backs QCs despite fare fears

Gateshead Council has endorsed Nexus’s bus Quality Contract plans for Tyne and Wear despite concerns that many council residents will end up paying higher fares. 

Labour-controlled Gateshead says the Quality Contract Scheme (QCS) “is the approach most likely to deliver the stable, affordable and comprehensive network of bus services required to support the council’s wider vision and objectives”.
