More details have emerged of Northumberland Council’s plan to reinstate passenger trains on the freight-only railway from Newcastle to Ashington.
The Northumberland Line have six stations: Ashington, Bedlington Station, Blyth Bebside, Newsham, Seaton Delaval and Northumberland Park (LTT 21 Feb). The intention is to deliver a half-hourly frequency service with an approximately 30 minute end-to-end journey time.
