Combe Haven, an unspoiled and intact river system with one main and several smaller valleys is – through good fortune – tucked in behind Bexhill and Hastings, within walking distance of 130,000 people. Council wards closest to the valley house many people experiencing conditions of ‘multiple deprivation’. This amphitheatre of wonderful places now faces major degradation from a road cutting it in half: the Bexhill to Hastings Link Road (BHLR).
