The fuel duty freeze that was due to end in September has been postponed until the end of the year to support people facing higher fuel prices because of the conflict in Iran, Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced.
Meanwhile, hauliers are to get a 12-month vehicle tax holiday and the Fuel duty rate on red diesel is also to be cut by over a third from the middle of next month until the end of the year, to help farmers who use it in their tractors and other agricultural machinery.
