We’re losing the public battle to cut CO2 emissions, says global warming prophet

The battle to convince the public of the need for massive reductions in carbon dioxide emissions is being lost, according to the scientist who sparked concern about man-made global warming 20 years ago.

James Hansen, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, made the comments at this week’s Edinburgh International Science Festival, where he received the ‘Edinburgh Medal’ for his contribution to science.
