DfT rejects plan for pedicab registration

The Government has rejected plans for a registration scheme for pedicabs that would have provided powers for police and local authorities to enforce parking and traffic regulations against them. The proposed powers were contained in the London Local Authorities' and Transport for London Bill but have been rejected by the House of Commons Opposed Bills Committee. Westminster City Council, which had campaigned for the powers, voiced disappointment at the decision...
