TfL targets junctions to boost cycle safety

Transport for London is launching a programme of works to improve cyclist safety at more than 50 major junctions this autumn.

Over the next 18 months junctions will be widened to allow more space for cyclists, there will be more segregated cycle lanes, and early start traffic signals will be implemented to allow cyclists to move through junctions ahead of other traffic.

The first sites are likely to include Waterloo roundabout and the roundabout on the north side of Lambeth bridge.
