Shift to smaller-scale transport schemes ‘could be a good thing’

The Liklihood that small-scale rather than big projects will be favoured after local major transport scheme funding is devolved to the 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships may bring some benefits, a PTE and the DfT have suggested.

Local authority officer association ADEPT has said that dividing the funding between so many areas will make it much more difficult to deliver major projects, such as a new road, that are sometimes needed to tackle a problem (LTT 02 Feb).
