TfW presses Network Rail and GBR to extend Shrewsbury station lease

Transport for Wales is seeking a longer lease on Shrewsbury station because the current 10-year agreement restricts its ability to commit to longer-term improvements for the station’s users.

Shrewsbury is the fourth busiest station managed by TfW Rail. All rail journeys between North, Mid and South Wales pass through Shrewsbury, where five routes converge. A sixth route, to Swansea via Llandrindod, diverges at Craven Arms, to the south.
