Papers bemoan transport cost increases on buses and trains... and also in cars

Significant transport cost increases towards the end of 2011 were greeted with widespread gloom in the media, with travellers warned of major price rises in almost all of the main modes of transport.

A great deal of media coverage was given to the high cost of rail travel in late December/early January as the annual hike in rail fares kicked in.
