London transport commissioner Peter Hendy was guest speaker at the University of Leeds business school annual alumni lecture last week, held on the top floor of London’s City Hall. Hendy graduated from Leeds with a BA in economics and geography in 1975 and in the audience last week was one of his old lecturers, transport economist Peter Mackie, who remains at the university’s  Institute for Transport Studies to this day.
