Government must pay for additional costs of Tube Lines PPP deal says TfL

A funding battle between Transport for London and the Government appears to be looming following the London Underground PPP arbiter’s guidance that Tube Lines will need an extra £1bn to cover its costs in the next regulatory period.

PPP arbiter Chris Bolt has ruled that Tube Lines is likely to need £5.1bn-£5.5bn during the second seven-and-a-half years (July 2010–December 2017) of the contract to maintain and renew the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines....
