London's bus network has lost its way since the 1960s re-shaping

Maybe it's because I'm aged but I seem to recall we have been here before when it comes to the shape of London's bus network (Letters, LTT?27 Jun).

I worked in the London Transport planning office when we produced Reshaping London's Buses in 1968. In those days buses in London suffered from declining passenger numbers, staff shortage and traffic congestion, three factors that are now history.

We had amassed data on traffic flows from surveys conducted by boroughs for the Greater London Plan...
