The DfT has published guidance for companies seeking to run commercial pilot schemes without a safety driver on roads in England, Scotland and Wales. The guidance has been developed to assist the application process and outline the expectations and requirements for pilot deployments.

This will be the first time that fully self-driving vehicles are allowed to operate on the UK’s roads.
