Greens call for a cross-Forth rail tunnel

The Scottish Green Party has proposed building a rail tunnel between Edinburgh and Fife under the Firth of Forth.  

The proposal would enter Scotland’s capital in Leith where an underground station is suggested.  

The party’s rail proposals, presented ahead of May’s Scottish Parliament elections, also feature: 

a new overground terminal station at St Enoch’s (Argyle Street) in Glasgow

electrification of the inter-city network by 2030
