City steps up air quality monitoring

Portsmouth City Council is investing in new air quality monitoring equipment to support its clean air plan. 

The council is to introduce a Class B charging clean air zone (CAZ) covering the southwest of Portsea Island after two nitrogen dioxide pollution hotspots were identified on the A3, the main road into the city (LTT 08 Nov 19). The CAZ could be operational from the end of 2021.
