Cambridge could become a centre for driverless public transport systems according to two reports released this week, which have the backing of local authorities and the city’s research community.

One report discusses the Affordable Very Rapid Transit (AVRT) concept developed by Professor John Miles of the University of Cambridge’s department of civil engineering.  The other looks at the potential for autonomous vehicles to operate on the Cambridgeshire busway.
