Track laying will commence soon on the next stage of the East West Rail project after the Government released £760m. But two key parts of the project have been dropped from the next stage, seemingly on cost and value for money grounds.
East West Rail is the project to reconnect Oxford and Cambridge and eventually extend services eastwards into East Anglia.
