The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is re-examining the case for using smaller vehicles on its Cambridgeshire Autonomous Metro (CAM) project, which could reduce infrastructure costs.
CAM is envisaged as a public transport network focused on Cambridge with routes extending to St Neots, Haverhill, Mildenhall and Alconbury in the county (LTT 07 Feb).
The vehicles had been envisaged as single deck buses, possibly autonomously operated in the future.
