Midlothian restricts school street traffic

COUNCILLORS IN Moray have rejected calls for the pedestrianised section of Elgin’s High Street to be re-opened to vehicular traffic as a way of boosting trade. The street has been pedestrianised since 1996. Dave Malpas, Moray’s senior engineer (traffic) told councillors there was “no clear evidence that increasing traffic on the High Street would have a positive impact on retail trade”.
