I must take this opportunity to put the record straight regarding a comment in the letter from Paul Withrington (Letters LTT 2 Oct).
Paul is obviously entitled to his singular views on rail-to-road conversion, as he again wheels out his favourite example from the USA (there are probably few other successful ones that he can refer to) but he is totally incorrect about public transport in Geneva. I have no doubt that the statement he quotes was made in 2002, but the world has moved on since...
