Gatwick Airport will continue to safeguard land for a second runway despite the Government’s moratorium on new runways in the South East.
“We do need to anticipate that, in the long-term, a second runway at Gatwick may be needed,” says the airport’s draft masterplan published last week. “We will continue to safeguard land for future expansion.” A second runway would require a third passenger terminal.
