Unlimited aspiration for a calmer city

Bristol City Council has introduced two pilot 20mph areas to improve residential streets and create the conditions for increasing the amount of cycling and walking around the city.

The two 20mph pilot areas for Inner South Bristol and Inner East Bristol covering over 30,000 households were funded by the Cycling City project at a total cost of £480,000 – because the Cycling City team viewed reducing traffic speeds that deter more people from cycling as a priority for investment.
