WAG aims to ease M4 congestion by purchasing steelworks road

The Welsh Assembly Government this week announced a cut-price way to alleviate capacity on the congested M4 motorway to the east of Newport. WAG has announced that it has completed the purchase of the Queensway road that passes through the Corus steelworks site at Llanwern. Plans will now be drawn up to convert the road into a dual carriageway. Transport minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said the road would provide a cheaper and less environmentally damaging way of relieving the M4 than previous plans...
