Transport bosses will mark the end of an era this weekend, as the heavy rail line through Oldham closes for conversion to Metrolink.
The new Metrolink line to Oldham and Rochdale is part of a £600 million expansion of the light rail network, which will also take trams to East Manchester and Droylsden, Chorlton, and MediaCityUK in Salford.
