Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has announced plans to accelerate the delivery of bus franchising in the conurbation. His proposal would see the process completed by May 2024, a year earlier than currently planned.

Fresh from his re-election, Burnham has unveiled what he describes as a raft of measures to improve Greater Manchester’s transport system.
