Transport Scotland backs teleconferencing to cut CO2

Transport Scotland is to make more use of video and telephone conferencing and may even encourage staff to move closer to the organisation's central Glasgow headquarters as part of a travel plan to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The agency's plan, drawn up with the assistance of consultant JMP, aims to reduce the 'carbon footprint' of the organisation's 300 employees and is based on the ethos that the "greenest mile is the mile not travelled".
