Smith gives passengers a voice in nation’s bus policy debates

Passenger Focus is playing an increasingly important part in the bus sector with surveys of passenger satisfaction and research projects on topics such as bus punctuality and the social consequences of service withdrawals. Andrew Forster spoke to chief executive Anthony Smith about his organisation’s bus work

There's been plenty of doom and gloom in news about the bus industry over recent months, with local authorities cutting tendered service budgets and operators struggling to cope with reductions to Bus Service Operators Grant and concessionary fares reimbursement. So one could be forgiven for assuming that bus passengers must be a pretty unhappy bunch. But the reality is quite different.
