DfT wins fight to keep LTP funds out of new LAA grant regime

Transport officers in English local authorities have voiced relief at news that the DfT has won an internal Whitehall battle to protect local transport capital funding.

The Department for Communities and Local Government had been proposing that LTP funding be channelled into the new area-based grant regime that will be used by local strategic partnerships (LSPs) to ensure the delivery of local area agreement (LAA) priorities.
