Alex Forrest (Letters LTT 13 Sep) raises the very important issue of segregated cycle tracks. Whilst they do have them in many northern European cities, the cycle track is sometimes shared with a pedestrian track next to it that is distinguished only by the different colour of the pavement. The markings may be easy to see but it is very easy, particularly when walking and talking to a companion next to you, to stray from the pedestrian area without realising and put oneself in potential...
