Southeastern operator loses franchise after ‘serious breach’

The Government is to take over Southeastern services after discovering that operator London & South Eastern Railway (LSER)  failed to declare £25m in taxpayer funding which should have been returned.

Southeastern services will be run by the Government’s “Operator of Last Resort” from 17 October.
