ALG approves decriminalisation of moving traffic offences

The Association of London Government was this week expected to authorise boroughs to apply to take on the enforcement of moving traffic offences after deeming a pilot scheme a success.

The London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003 empowers authorities to take on the civil enforcement of a range of moving traffic offences including infringements of yellow box junctions, banned turns, disobeying 'no entry' and 'school keep clear' signs.
