Statistics show town centre traffic levels falling in Greater Manchester

Peak period traffic flows into most town and city centres in Greater Manchester have fallen in the last decade, according to figures compiled by the ten conurbation metropolitan districts.

The number of vehicles entering Manchester city centre in the morning peak (07.30-09.30) in 2006 was 12% below 1997 levels.
