InstaVolt offers cheap rapid charging with no membership required

Ultra-rapid public electric vehicle charging network InstaVolt is offering drivers what it says is cheapest rapid charging rate in the market for 11 hours every day, with no membership fee required to access it.

From 22 April InstaVolt app users can charge at 55p per kWh between 8pm and 7am. 

The pricing is made possible by InstaVolt's investment in battery storage technology. By storing energy overnight – when non-commodity costs are lower and grid demand is reduced – InstaVolt says it is able to buy power more cheaply and pass those savings directly on to customers. 

This approach is apparent at the Winchester Superhub, where InstaVolt has made its greatest investment in battery storage to date. Throughout summer 2026, the Superhub will offer a flat rate of 70p per kWh around the clock for all drivers, with app users benefiting from the 55p off-peak rate between 8pm and 7am, and a 65p daytime rate. 

Delvin Lane, chief executive of InstaVolt, said: “We believe public charging should be as affordable and accessible as possible, and our off-peak rate is a direct expression of that commitment. Fifty-five pence per kWh, for eleven hours a day, available to any driver through our free app: no membership, no catch. We are investing in the infrastructure to make this possible, and as that investment grows, we expect to be able to go further. This is what innovation through action looks like.”
