Electric bike pavement death prompts safety debate

The first manslaughter conviction recorded as the result of a person being hit by an electric-powered cycle on the pavement has raised debate about how to preserve the integrity of the footway for pedestrians.

The issues go beyond electric cycles to other kinds of pavement misuse by other micro mobility modes.
