Costain has been awarded the Early Contractor Involvement contract to replace the Wolvercote viaduct on the A34 dual carriageway Oxford Western bypass and modify Peartree Hill junction. A new 250-metre-long viaduct will be built next to the existing one - which spans the A40, the Oxford Canal and the Oxford to Banbury railway line - and the old viaduct demolished following the opening of the new one.
