The Government has given the go-ahead for a new railway station on the Midland Mainline, following the public inquiry inspector's report. The station would be between Derby and Loughborough, adjacent to Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station. The park-and-ride station would include a 1,000-space car park and be sited close to junction 24 of the M1.
