The Scottish Government has earmarked £150m for active travel projects in its 2023/24 budget. This is an extra £34.5m on top of the £115.5m allocated for cycling, walking and wheeling in the previous year’s budget.
This means that about 4.4% of the Scottish Government’s transport budget will be allocated to active travel, up from 3.5% in the previous budget.
