It is disappointing that the cycle campaign Spokes should attack the footway widening elements of Edinburgh’s ‘Spaces for People’ (SfP) scheme (‘Edinburgh public split on Spaces for People’, LTT 16 Apr). They claim that “The footway extensions in Morningside [in south Edinburgh] are not well used and have the effect of making cycling more difficult.”
