The Western Gateway grouping of local authorities is to use an existing transport model to inform the preparation of a long-term transport plan for the area, rather than develop a new one. 

The Western Gateway non-statutory sub-national transport body (STB) covers eight local authorities: Bath and North East Somerset; Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole; Bristol; Dorset; Gloucestershire; North Somerset; South Gloucestershire; and Wiltshire.
