The Government has told England’s non-statutory sub-national transport bodies (STBs) to forget any aspirations they have to become statutory bodies with a range of powers.
The message, conveyed by transport minister Baroness Vere, is a particular setback to Transport for the South East (TfSE) and the England’s Economic Heartland (), both of which were preparing applications for statutory status.
