William Barter makes a very convincing case for avoiding any capacity reduction in the proposals for the Euston HS2 station platforms and its approach (ibid). Whilst his argument is highly technical to most readers and the costs of HS2 need to be critically challenged, any small capacity reduction at Euston will seriously reduce the number of trains that can be run on HS2.
