Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has applied to the Office of Rail and Road for a station licence to take over the management and operation of Horwich Parkway.
TfGM owns the 1999-built station but it is managed by Northern under a maintenance and operation agreement.
If the licence application is granted, Horwich could serve as a pilot for TfGM’s aspirations to manage more stations.
