Open access rail plan problematic, says NR

Network Rail has raised doubts about the ability to accommodate a proposed open access rail service between South Wales and London Paddington.

Grand Union Trains Ltd wants to run up to seven trains a day each way in two-hourly intervals between Cardiff Central and Paddington from May 2021. From May 2023 it plans to extend the services to Llanelli, west of Swansea, and increase frequencies to 14 trains a day in each direction.
